Remove the bonded contaminants that ordinary washing leaves behind with Jay’s Synthetic Clay Mitt Bundle. This complete paint decontamination kit pairs our reusable Synthetic Clay Mitt with a bottle of ultra-slick Quick Detailer, giving you everything needed to safely lift embedded road grime, industrial fallout, overspray, tree sap residue, and other stubborn contamination from exterior surfaces.
The large synthetic clay surface covers more area than traditional detailing clay while the mitt design provides improved grip and control. Quick Detailer creates a slick layer of lubrication that helps the mitt glide smoothly across the finish while minimizing unnecessary friction. Once the surface is clean, use Quick Detailer on its own to wipe away light dust, fingerprints, and smudges while adding gloss, depth, and clarity.

Even freshly washed paint can hold onto embedded contaminants that leave the surface feeling rough or gritty. Industrial fallout, brake dust, rail dust, stubborn road film, light overspray, and environmental residue can bond to the exterior and remain behind after a normal hand wash.
Jay’s Synthetic Clay Mitt mechanically removes these contaminants from the surface, restoring a smooth finish and creating a cleaner foundation for polishing, waxing, sealing, or ceramic coating. Its flexible mitt construction follows the contours of the vehicle while the large synthetic clay face allows you to work across hoods, roofs, doors, glass, and other smooth exterior surfaces more efficiently than a small piece of traditional clay.
Unlike conventional detailing clay, the Synthetic Clay Mitt does not need to be repeatedly folded and kneaded to expose a clean working area. Simply rinse the synthetic surface frequently during use to release accumulated contamination. If the mitt is accidentally dropped, thoroughly rinse and inspect it before continuing rather than automatically discarding it.
For the safest results, always begin with a freshly washed vehicle and use the mitt with generous lubrication. Glide it across the surface using light pressure and straight, overlapping passes. As bonded contamination is removed, the mitt will begin to move more freely and the surface will feel noticeably smoother.
For use on clean, cool surfaces out of direct sunlight. Test on an inconspicuous area to ensure desired results.
Jay's Synthetic Clay Mitt has a protective coating applied to keep the claying material preserved during storage & transport. This coating needs to be removed prior to the first use. Moisten the claying material with soapy water, or desired claying lubricant, then rub on a section of window glass for 30 - 60 seconds. You should see a milky residue coming from the surface, this is the coating rinsing away. The mitt is ready for use with the clay material is soft & slightly tacky.
1. Ensure the surface has been thoroughly washed, rinsed & dried.
2. Always use sufficient lubrication when claying. We recommend a clay specific lubricant, but detailing spray or soapy water are a good alternative.
3. Work small areas at a time. Saturate the surface and the mitt with your lubricant. Lightly glide the clay mitt across the surface in a cross-hatch pattern.
4. Continuously check the claying surface for grit & particle build up. Rinse frequently as needed.
5. Repeat on all panels of the vehicle until completed.
Note: Use only as directed. Conditions will vary. Polishing or surface correction may be required after surface contaminants are removed. Remove tar and/or grease before use. The mitt is not solvent resistant.
